Key Benefits

  • Treatment of eye conditions by your own eye doctor.

  • State-of-the-art assessment.

  • State-of-the-art equipment.

Capabilities

  • Dry Eye or keratitis sicca is virtually epidemic on the prairies. We live in a dry climate and dry eyes are a very common malady. PECC has a range of therapeutic options ranging from solution and gel lubricants to punctal plugs to help manage the symptoms of dry eye.

  • Watery Eye is also virtually epidemic on the prairies. We live in a climate that simply irriates the eye. PECC has a range of therapeutic options to help manage the symptoms of watery eye.

  • Conjunctivitis or 'Red Eye' can be caused by bacterial infection, viral infection, allergic reaction or chemical irritation. A precise diagnosis is crucial. PECC has a complete range of diagnostic equipment to determine that precise diagnosis. Antibiotic, anti-viral, pain management prescriptions can be delivered.

  • Diabetes diagnosis The Canadian Diabetic Association (CDA) has recently endorsed optometrists to provide a valuable role in diabetes diagnosis and follow-up. The CDA also recommends an annual dilated eye exam for all diabetics.

  • Corneal Foreign Bodies result from grinders, saws and hammers. These must be removed immediately to prevent or limit possible vision loss.

  • Flashes and Floaters can be an indication of serious retinal problems. Whenever dark spots or bright sparks are experienced, a thorough dilated eye exam is warranted and referral to a retinal specialist will be made if required.
